Pre-convention Meetings - 2009 Pre-convention meetings help prepare deputies with reports relevant to the business of convention. Presentations will be made on the proposed diocesan budget, task force reports, resolutions and orientation information for first time deputies. DIRECTIONS Wednesday, January 7, 2009 - St. Elizabeth's Church, 169 Fairmount Road, Ridgewood, 07450 - 7:30 p.m.; 201-444-2299 From South: Take the Garden State Parkway North to Exit 163 (Route 17, Paramus). This is a LEFT-hand exit. Go several miles on Route 17 to Linwood Ave. West exit (on right) -- go under overpass in order to take exit towards Ridgewood, crossing back over Route 17. Take Linwood Avenue to end. Go RIGHT on Oak Street and continue 2 blocks to blinker (Ridgewood Art Institute on left-hand corner). Go LEFT on West Glen Avenue; continue under a railroad bridge to the next blinker. Go RIGHT onto Heights Road. To park in front of the church, go two blocks and turn LEFT onto Fairmount Road; continue 2/3 block to stone church on right. To park in the parking lot at the rear of the church, go one block past Fairmount where Heights Road T’s off into California Street and turn LEFT onto California Street. The parking lot is on the left across from the Willard School field. From West/Southwest: Take Route 80 (if necessary) to Route 287 North. 287 divides at Oakland; stay in right-hand lanes and take Route 208 (only one direction, South, is possible). Take 208 South to Maple Avenue/Glen Rock, Ridgewood exit -- go under overpass in order to take exit towards Ridgewood, crossing back over Route 208. Take Maple Ave. west through Glen Rock to Ridgewood. In Ridgewood, after going through light at Linwood Avenue (Graydon Pool on right), go to next traffic light (firehouse on opposite right corner). Go LEFT onto West Glen Avenue. Continuing on West Glen Ave., go through one blinker, under a railroad bridge, to the second blinker. Go RIGHT onto Heights Road. To park in front of the church, go two blocks and turn LEFT onto Fairmount Road; continue 2/3 block to stone church on right. To park in the parking lot at the rear of the church, go one block past Fairmount where Heights Road T’s off into California Street and turn LEFT onto California Street. Tuesday, January 13, 2009 - Christ Church, 422 Main Street, East Orange 07018 - 7:30 p.m. 973-678-1160 From West - Use Interstate 280 East Take Harrison Street, East Orange Exit; make left on Harrison; proceed to Main Street (Martin Luther King Blvd); make right turn; continue on Main Street to 1st block past 3rd traffic light; church is on the left at corner of Main and Burnett Streets. From East - Use Interstate 280 West Take Clinton Street Exit; follow service road to Burnett Street (3rd traffic light); make right onto Burnett Street; proceed one block to Main Street (Martin Luther King Blvd); Christ Church is at corner of Main and Burnett Streets. From North or South - Garden State Pkwy to Exit 145 Take Central Avenue exit; make a right onto Central Avenue; proceed to Burnett Street (Kentucky Fried Chicken on corner); make a right onto Burnett Street; proceed to Main Street; Christ Church is on corner of Burnett and Main Streets. Thursday, January 15, 2009 - Church of the Saviour, 155 Morris Ave, Denville 07834 - 7:30 p.m. 973-627-3304 From 287 North: Take Exit to Route 80 West to Exit 39 onto Rt. 46 East. Take exit for Rt. 53 North (second exit after exiting Rt 80). End of exit turn right. Go to 2nd light and turn right onto Diamond Spring Rd. Take Diamond Spring Rd. through light. The Denville Historical Society and Denville Library will be on your left and St. Francis Health Resort on your right. Morris Ave. is the first left past the library. Turn left onto Morris Ave and church is 3/4 mile down on the left. From 280 West: Take Route 280 to Route 80 West to Exit 39 onto Rt. 46 East. Take exit for Rt. 53 North (second exit after exiting Rt 80). End of exit turn right. Go to 2nd light and turn right onto Diamond Spring Rd. Take Diamond Spring Rd. through light. The Denville Historical Society and Denville Library will be on your left and St. Francis Health Resort on your right. Morris Ave. is the first left past the library. Turn left onto Morris Ave and church is 3/4 mile down on the left. From Route 80 East: Take Exit 38 onto Route 46 East. Go under Rt. 80 overpass and just before light cut through the Burger Kin parking lot and make left. Cross over Route 46 to stop sign and make a left. Follow Savage Road around Gardner Field. The first right is Morris Ave. The church is 300 yards down on the right side. From Route 80 West: Take Exit 39 (Denville) onto Rt. 46 East. Take exit for Rt. 53 North (second exit after exiting Rt 80). End of exit turn right. Go to 2nd light and turn right onto Diamond Spring Rd. Take Diamond Spring Rd. through light. The Denville Historical Society and Denville Library will be on your left and St. Francis Health Resort on your right. Morris Ave. is the first left past the library. Turn left onto Morris Ave and church is 3/4 mile down on the left. From Route 46 East: Take exit for Rt 53 North (second exit after exiting Rt 80) and follow directions from Rt 80 West above. From Route 46 West: Take Route 46 into Denville. Just past the Banzai Steak House and Gearheart Car Dealer bear right onto Broadway. (The river will be on your right.) Continue straight. Make first light onto Second Ave. Go to end of block and turn right. Go through light, past Denville Historical Society & Denville Library. Make first left on to Morris Ave. Church is 3/4 mile down on the left. Alternate Route 80 East Directions: Take Exit 37 for Rockaway and Hibernia. At bottom of exit make a left. Get into right lane and at next light (under 80 overpass) turn right onto Morris Ave. Morris Ave bends left, goes past Morris Catholic High School and then bends right. After that bend you’ll pass a hard left turn. Take the next left after that (there will be a street on your right.) This is the continuation of Morris Ave. The church is 300 yards down on the right.
